1967 TOPPS DISCS CARL YASTRZEMSKI #24.
A "Yaz" Topps disc from the same year as Carl Yastrzemski's rare accomplishment in winning an American League "Triple Crown" title for homers, batting percentage and RBI leadership for that same season. This disc is 2 3/8" x 2 3/8" and appears in near mint shape. Similar to the more common 28-piece set of 1968, this set of all-stars is known only in proof form, evidently intended to be pressed onto a pin-back button issue which never materialized. Well regarded as a great all-around player on offense and defense, Yaz was the backbone of the Boston Red Sox team for more than two decades. SCD Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards Value= $750.

1968 TOPPS DISCS CARL YASTRZEMSKI W/PROOFS LOT OF 4.
One of the scarcer Topps baseball collectibles, this set was apparently a never-completed test issue. These full-color, cardboard discs, which measured approximately 2-1/4" in diameter, were probably intended to be made into a pin set but production was never completed and no actual pins are known to exist. Rarer still are the three printer's proofs of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski's for the Topps 1968 Topps Discs showing the various color stages of the proofing process, black, cyan, magenta, yellow. These proofing copies are difficult to obtain and should be considered quite scarce. Another valuable pickup for the Yastrzemski aficionado. (Total: 4 cards)

HONUS WAGNER SIGNED 11" X 14" B/W PHOTO.
That this oversized 11" x 14" black and white photo has survived is testament to the sheer will, determination, and grit that characterized the career of the "Flying Dutchman," HOF member Honus Wagner. One of the Hall of Fame's five original inductees in 1936, Honus Wagner combined rare offensive and defensive excellence throughout a 21-year career. 1967 TOPPS PUNCHOUTS CARL YASTRZEMSKI #91.
This little-known Topps test issue was reportedly issued around Maryland in cello packs containing two perforated strips of three game cards each. Topps was continually coming up with items kids could buy besides cards and this 1967 punch card game was one of those. Players of this game would have their batting lineup of players on their card then punch out a corresponding square on the player's line to see what the outcome of his "at bat" might be. On this American League card, captained by Carl Yastrzemski, the lineup included Jerry Lumpe, George Scott, Clete Boyer, Yaz, Dick McAuliffe, Don Lock, Rick Reichardt, Andy Etchebarren and Mel Stottlemyre. "The Whip" started six straight all-star games from 1946-1951 and was as one of the most dominant forces in the game. Shortly thereafter, Blackwell was beset by arm problems, and although he pitched well for a few more years, it was clear he was not the same pitcher. A difficult high number from the '52 set, this EX-MT example of Blackwell's only flaws appear to be a slight centering problem, and corners that are just a hair's breath away from being sharp. SMR Value= $245.
