1930's-60's Johnny Longden Winner's Circle Photographs Lot of 34.
Selection of Longden's most treasured photos document a small portion of his thousands of victories. These are the mounted "cabinet style" photographs presented only to the owners and jockeys following noteworthy victories on the track. Most feature an image of the action at the wire, and another of Longden astride his horse in the winner's circle. Often the details of the day are penned in the lower area of the mount. A couple photos are not "winner's circle," but rather great posed shots of Longden at the track. One winner's circle photo features Longden with Charles Howard, owner of Seabiscuit. Photos are mainly 8x10" in size, not including the size of the mount, and show only mild, unobtrusive wear.

1916 Everybody's Eddie Cicotte #32 SGC 50 VG-EX 4.
When Eddie Cicotte threw a pitch into leadoff hitter Morrie Rath's back in Game 1 of the 1919 World Series, it signaled to the corrupt architects of the infamous Black Sox Scandal that the fix was on. A star hurler in the majors at the time, Cicotte is now better known for taking the $10,000 payoff to lose the Fall Classic to the underdog Cincinnati Reds. Here we present a nice 1916 card, similar in format to the M101-4 issue released that year, this cardboard has the tough Everybody's advertising back.

1940's Johnny Longden Race Worn Helmet & Silk Riding Cap.
Exceptional race worn pair shows tremendous use from the Sport of Kings. The battered metal riding helmet likely saved Longden's life at least once if the frightening dents that coat its surface are any indication. Leather chinstrap is worn but solid and complete, and "Geno, Paris" tagging is found inside. A vintage strip of tape on the shell has handwritten "Johnny Longden" penned to its surface. The accompanying silk riding cap shows strong wear as well, with minor damage to the right side of the visor and mild foxing throughout. Vintage ink on interior headband reads, "J. Longden, Santa Anita." A fabulous matched set.

Late 1980's Marques Haynes Harlem Magicians Game Worn Jersey from the Marques Haynes Collection.
In 1983, Marques Haynes moved back to the Magicians traveling squad. This tour of duty lasted until he finished up his professional career in 1992; this jersey is from that period. In the ubiquitous red, white and blue theme, and displaying the Haynes signature number of "20," this Rawlings jersey retains its size 40 size tag. There is fairly heavy wear, with some pulling at the numbers. There are, however, no rips, tears or noticeable stains. This jersey witnessed several hundred games, with Marques leading the way despite his sixty-something chronological age. A very rare jersey example from the man who played in more games of basketball than even the most devoted fans will ever watch.
LOA from Lou Lampson.
