Description

Circa 1940 Jimmy Demaret Signed Photograph. Colorful Jimmy Demaret won the Masters in 1940 and followed that up with two more Green Jackets, becoming the first man to accomplish that feat. Later in life he became a worldwide ambassador for the game, traveling and hosting Shell's Wonderful World of Golf. At about the time of his first Masters victory, this remarkable sepia tone original photo was taken. The inscription reads as follows: "to my Pal Toney (Penna) a Credit to his Profession Golfingly Yours." Believed to be a Christian Family studio original photo. Direct from the Penna Estate. Inscription and signature rate about 7/10 in strength, and the 8 x 10 photograph provides no flaws of note. LOA from Mark Emerson. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
