1976-77 Joe Montana Document Lot with Signed Check, Pet Permit. Large stack of papers from the personal files of Joe's ex-wife includes the following: 1) Joseph C. Montana signed check. 2) Joseph C. Montana signed deposit. 3) Joseph C. Montana signed pet permit, dog tags, photos with Joe and dog and pedigree papers. 4) Kim M. Montana signed checks (40+). 5) Joe and Kim Montana check book with seven checks and deposit slips. 6) Dated deposit slips, Notre Dame payroll stubs. 7) Personal receipts/copies from furniture, automobile, life insurance, audio equipment, sporting goods, etc. (25+). Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.If this lot looks familiar to you, there's a reason for that. The Joe Montana Notre Dame Collection, consigned to Heritage by Montana's first wife Kim, initially appeared in our May 2008 Signature Sports Collectibles Auction. Immediately after the close of the auction, Heritage was contacted by lawyers for the Hall of Fame quarterback challenging the ownership rights of certain contents of the lots, and as a result all sales had to be cancelled. A year and a half later, with all the dust of legal wranglings finally settled, we are able to present the abridged contents of the archive for your collecting enjoyment. Each lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Kim Montana.
