Description
1976 Joe Montana Signed Apartment Lease Documents (2) & Snapshots. Pair of leasing documents secured an apartment for the young Notre Dame quarterback and his wife at "Williamsburg on the Lake of Mishawaka Apartments." Each is signed by "Joseph C. Montana" and "Kim M. Montana" in 10/10 ink. Documents exhibit storage folds otherwise EX-MT. Also here are four snapshots taken at the apartment, two picturing Montana. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.If this lot looks familiar to you, there's a reason for that. The Joe Montana Notre Dame Collection, consigned to Heritage by Montana's first wife Kim, initially appeared in our May 2008 Signature Sports Collectibles Auction. Immediately after the close of the auction, Heritage was contacted by lawyers for the Hall of Fame quarterback challenging the ownership rights of certain contents of the lots, and as a result all sales had to be cancelled. A year and a half later, with all the dust of legal wranglings finally settled, we are able to present the abridged contents of the archive for your collecting enjoyment. Each lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Kim Montana.
