Description

1951 Boston Red Sox Golden Anniversary Pin. Scarce ten-karat gold-filled pin was created to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the Boston Red Sox franchise, one of the eight charter teams to form the American League in 1901. Presented is the pin gifted to Earl J. Hilligan, whose name is engraved on verso, assistant to League president William Harridge. The face features an eagle perched atop a blue enamel ring reading "Golden Anniversary." The words "Red Sox 1951" appear in raised lettering on the focal center, crafted in the shape of a baseball. A faux diamond is inset at top. Condition is spectacular, an easy NRMT. Size is just over three-quarters of an inch in diameter.
