Description

1916 World Series (Brooklyn Dodgers) Press Pin. Diminutive in size but enormous in collecting appeal, the presented pin allowed one lucky journalist entry to Ebbets Field to watch Games Three and Four of the Dodgers' Fall Classic meeting with Babe Ruth's Boston Red Sox. The scarce artifact has survived the passing decades admirably, with light wear to the central baseball iconography and very clean blue and white enameling at the edges. Pin remains affixed at verso, where "Dieges & Clust" stamping is found. While 1916 Brooklyn pins are typically found with a threaded post on verso, we're confident that this is a rare variation, as it is clear that no post ever resided here. Diameter .75".
