Description

1946 Cuban Professional Baseball Constitution Signed by Forty-Seven including Martin Dihigo. One of the most important documents in the history of Cuban baseball is provided here, the very one which establishes the "Asociacion Nacional de Peloteros Profesionales de Cuba," or "The National Association of Professional Cuban Baseball Players." Below the fifteen lines of typed text enacting this new governing body reside forty-seven autographs from the top players in the country at that time. Fifteen of these are on verso, including the enormously scarce and desirable Martin Dihigo, the 1977 Cooperstown inductee whose autograph appears in only the most comprehensive of Hall of Fame collections. This is arguably the most important exemplar in existence, applied with unimprovable 10/10 boldness. Other notables include Armando Marsans (debut 1911 Cincinnati Reds), Oliverio Ortiz (debut 1944 Washington Senators), Roberto Ortiz, Armando Roche, Lazaro Salazar, Avelino Canizares, Louis Tiant, Sr., Silvio Garcia, Hector Rodriguez and more. All autographs remain as bold as the day of their application. The page exhibits the toning one would expect from decades in a tropical climate, but neither this, nor the original storage folds, cause any distraction. A genuine Cuban national treasure. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
