Description

1960's Roger Maris "61 in 61" Single Signed Baseball, PSA Mint 9. Here it is, the greatest Maris single in the world. We couldn't imagine anybody claiming otherwise, as the presented baseball hits every note for pure perfection. First, the unimprovable blue ink sweet spot signature appears in Maris' playing-days format, as opposed to the far more commonly seen late 1970's and early 1980's models. Next, the brief, brilliant inscription is pure gold, and practically unheard of in any format. And, finally, the medium is an OAL (Cronin) ball, the exact model that cleared Yankee Stadium's right field wall on October 1, 1961 to seat Rajah upon the single season home run throne. The harsh arbiters at PSA/DNA, judging the sphere only on its condition, handed down a verdict of Mint 9 based upon signature strength and horsehide cleanliness. And there's no asterisk on that grade. LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
