Joe Montana Dwight Clark Dual Signed "The Catch" Photo. Joe Montana is considered by many to be the greatest quarterback ever - given a Hall of Fame career and four Super Bowl victories. Dwight Clark, a Pro-Bowl wide receiver, was a member of two 49ers Super Bowl Teams and had his number 87 retired by the club. The most memorable touchdown for both Joe and Dwight came when a scrambling Montana, with three Cowboys closing in for the kill, lofted the ball to the back of the end zone for Clark. The six-yard touchdown pass, with 51 seconds left, gave the 49ers a 28-27 victory over Dallas for the 1981 NFC championship. Known simply as "The Catch," it is a moment in 49ers history that no fan will ever forget. The lower image graced the cover of Sports Illustrated the following week.
