Description

1953 Brooklyn Dodgers Stock Certificate Owned & Signed by Walter O'Malley. Still widely hated by the residents of Brooklyn who recall the move to Los Angeles in 1958, Walter O'Malley has nonetheless earned the respect of the baseball world at large, having gained posthumous Hall of Fame induction in 2008 for his influence in expanding the Major Leagues westward. Presented here is a stock certificate claiming "Two Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty" shares of Brooklyn National League Baseball Club stock on the "17th day of February 1953." The gorgeously lithographed 9x12" certificate featires a fine image of the Ebbets Field facade, and a 10/10 blue ink signature from O'Malley himself at lower right. Original storage folds and staple holes at upper left are the only issues of note in terms of condition, leaving the certificate in ideal form for display. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication. Guide Value or Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500.
