Description

Polo Grounds Stadium Seat with Figural Side. Though the Coogan's Bluff ballpark is no more, a bit of the magic of that storied ballpark lives on in the iron and wood of this masterfully restored seat that bore witness to everything from Merkle's Boner to Willie Mays' catch. While any seat from the Upper Manhattan landmark carries tremendous collecting appeal, this one takes the proverbial cake with the highly desirable figural side that was only present on seats bordering the aisles. Designed as a wall mount chair, this rare artifact has been mounted to tastefully understated stanchions to allow it functionality. All wood and iron is original, with only the high-quality paint job not original to the days of Matty and McGraw. What better seating for your trophy room than this genuine work of art?
