Description

1912 J=K Candy Johnny Kling (Uncatalogued) SGC 10 Poor 1. Graded 10 PR 1 by SGC, the only example grade to date. Johnny Kling was an excellent catcher for the Chicago Cubs and a key element to the teams success during the first decade of the 20th Century. He is also noted for the fact that he stopped playing baseball to participate in the world of professional Billiards. The offered example, once a full panel from a box of candy and maybe small toys, has been nicely cut with almost full left and right border treatments. Light horizontal creasing, some minor surface scuffing and a damaged lower left corner account for the technical assessment. Kling is currently unlisted as part of the J=K series in any reference guide making this a potentially unique piece for the foreseeable future or beyond.
