1991 Barry Bonds Game Worn Jersey. There are great Barry Bonds Giants gamers in the marketplace, and there are so-so versions. Bonds has even marketed them himself. For certain, there are many from his late-career era, perhaps too many. But there are precious few from his early career in Pittsburgh, and even fewer with solid wear and a unique differentiator. Offered here is one of the finest early career representations of baseball's new home run king, a 1991 home Pirates button down knit worn when Aaron's fabled record was still over six hundred homers in the distance. The six-button front sports the highly styled "Pirates" in black on yellow tackle twill. Bonds' number "24" appears in proper rounded block font on the jersey front and verso, with "Bonds" name on back affixed to an arched plate. The inner front tail sports a "Rawlings [size] 42" label with a "Set 2 1991" flap tag affixed to its right vertical quadrant edge. The Pirates' gold based team patch resides on the left sleeve, and the right sleeve sports the very rare "H" memorial patch in recognition of the late season passing of John Hallihan, the long-serving Pirates equipment manager affectionately known as "Hoolie." The overall wear is solid, and the presence of the "H" patch makes this early Pirates knit one of the most important Bonds extant. LOA from Lou Lampson.
