Description
2012 Colin Kaepernick Game Worn, Signed and Inscribed San Francisco 49ers Jersey - Worn 12/16/12 Vs. New England. Every so often you get to witness a paradigm shift in professional sports. It may not always be positive, like the Steroid Age of Major League Baseball, but it's always thrilling to see. The 2012 NFL season provided a decidedly more welcome change to the status quo, as a new breed of quarterback emerged to give defensive coordinators stomach ulcers as they scrambled to find answers to a question that they'd never before been asked. Together with Washington Redskins rookie Robert Griffin III, Colin Kaepernick has redefined the notion of the mobile quarterback. From Fran Tarkenton to Aaron Rodgers, there had long been a class of elite QB's able to buy time in the pocket with agility and elusiveness, but here was a pair with an unprecedented will and ability to venture into the danger that lurked beyond the line of scrimmage.Presented is a jersey worn during one of the most impressive victories of the San Francisco 49ers' 2012 regular season. Star wide receiver said it best: "We can win a shootout," Crabtree said. "Whatever it takes, that's our motto. ... We feel like we can do anything, sky's the limit."
From the team's memorable Super Bowl season, this is the first game-worn white road Colin Kaepernick jersey sold publicly, and it comes straight from the young phenom himself. Exhibiting scrapes, fabric piling and additional wear from battle at New England's Gillette Stadium in which the young QB threw four touch downs, it presents the attractive "Hall of Fame 50th Anniversary" patch below the left shoulder, while sewn-on identifiers are presented throughout. The proper "Nike [size] 42" tag is in the collar, while Kaepernick has signed the back in perfect black sharpie, with the added inscription: "12-16-12 vs. NE Pats 4 TD Passes 41-34 Win!"
Fresh off the sale of the postseason Kaepernick home red jersey in our February 2013 Platinum auction that realized $22,705, this example promises to attract the similar spirited bidding activity. Letter of provenance from Colin Kaepernick. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
