1928 Notre Dame Team Signed Football - With Rockne. From time to time we come across an item that our cataloguer labels as "Hall of Fame caliber." Rarely does that particular item actually ever make it into one of those coveted venues for public display, but once in a while after the item has served its time in a Hall of Fame, it ends up back in the hands of the original owner and makes its way to auction.Offered here is an original team-signed Notre Dame football hailing from the famed "Win one for the Gipper" season of 1928, and amazingly, it was once on display in the "National Football Foundation's College Football Hall of Fame."
Extremely nostalgic in appearance, the "Wilson Knute Rockne" model pigskin exhibits considerable wear (signatures range from 6-8/10 quality), while it remains partially filled with air and nicely shaped. The legendary coach Rockne is displayed in 8/10 black ink below the laces, while additional signatures include the following: George Leppig, John Coldrick, Ed Collins, Fred Miller, Jim Brady, Jim Bray, Moon Mullins, Frank Carideo, Joe Nash, Tom Conley, Dinny Shay, Billy Dew, J.
