1888 John Ball, Jr. Handwritten Signed Letter. John Ball Jr. is the most prolific winner of amateur titles in the history of golf. From 1888-1912 he captured the British Amateur Championship no less than eight times and in 1890, he won the Open Championship. This item is a splendid note on raised letter stationery from the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in which Ball indicates he's received his medal. Both text and closing autograph are rendered in flawless black fountain pen ink. Page measures 4.5x7" and exhibits original mailing folds, otherwise NRMT. LOA from Mark Emerson.
