    Description

1968 Mexico City Summer Olympics Torch with Original Box. Don Cohan was one of the finest yachtsmen to lead the United States into Olympic competition. The highlight of Cohan's career came when he grabbed the bronze medal in the 1972 Munich Games. This made him the first Jewish yachtsman to claim a medal for the United States. This 1968 Olympics torch originates directly from Cohan's family. Presented is one of five torch designs used to carry the flame to the games. The creation is made out of aluminum and has a wooden grip. Some oxidation appears inside the flame cone and light surface wear is visible. The original box which housed the torch will attend. Letter of provenance from Don Cohan's son.
