1912 T227 Miner's Extra "Series of Champions" SGC Graded pair (2). The T227 "Series of Champions" edition is considered by many to be among the finest sets ever produced. The illustrations are extremely well done and combined with high quality lithography the cards rank second to none for pure eye appeal. Examples are more commonly found with advertising for "Honest Long Cut" tobacco. Both cards offered in this presentation feature the scarcer "Miner's Extra" brand reverse. Includes: Melvin Sheppard, winner of five gold and silver medals in the 1908 and 1912 Olympics (SGC 20 Fair 1.5) and Uhlan (SGC 30 Good 2). Both cards are attractive examples for their respective garde levels.
