    Description

1966 Topps "Green Hornet" Stickers High Grade Complete Set (44) Plus Wrapper. Probably from being distracted by the upcoming debut of the campy "Batman" TV show, Greenway (Topps) let the license for the same production company's more serious "Green Hornet" adaptation slip through their fingers. By the time the exec's at Topps realized their mistake, their competitor Donruss had already signed for the exclusive rights to issue cards. Legal technicalities allowed Topps to gain exclusive license to issue not cards but stickers with their gum instead. The resulting set proved to be one of the most colorful and attractive of the time. The wrapper grades out at the EX level with normal folds and light creasing. This is a surprisingly high grade complete set of this condition sensitive issue. Highlights include: Graded Cards - PSA GEM MINT 10: 2 cards, #'s 19 and 24; PSA MINT 9: 2 cards, #'s 21 and 30; PSA NM-MT 8: 1 card, #20; PSA EX 5: 1 card, #40. Grades 39% NM to NM/MT, 61% EX to EX/MT (some lesser).

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
