1960 Leaf "Foney Ads" High End Near Set (68/72) Plus 72 Extras. This set is scarcely offered as complete and even less often in this high grade. Many are well aware of the late-1960's "Wacky Packages" but in reality those sets just brought the irreverence to a whole new level. One of the first to parody the world around us was a 72-card series by Leaf Gum in 1960 with a set called "Foney Ads." This is a very, very high grade set of these fun collectibles that is a very early non-sports issue within the Leaf library. They all appear to have never seen public distribution. Three cards have been graded by PSA. The near set is missing #'s 10, 26, 58 and 60. Includes: #'s 11 Grandma Hag's (PSA Mint 9), 44 Kill-log's Chips N Flakes (PSA Mint 9) and 60 Tender-Leak Tea Bags (PSA NM-MT 8). Grades 78% EX/MT to NM with a few nicer, 22% EX or lesser. The 72 extras include 47 different cards. The extras grades 67% EX/MT with some nicer, 33% EX or lesser (two have tape on rev.).Auction Info
