    Description

1936 R13-2 "American G-Men" and R61 "Government Agents Vs Public Enemies" Complete Set Pair (2). In the 1930's nothing was taking the depression off the minds of the American public than the war between the growing number of violent gangster types and the corps of government agents hired to bring them to justice. This presentation includes a pair of strip card sets of this theme. Both sets originally circulated as 8-card perforated strips. Includes: 1936 R13-2 "American G-Men" (48) - Complete set of 48 cards, numbered #701-748. Grades 50% PR to GD with a few nicer, 50% hand cut very small; 1936 R61 Pressner "Government Agents Vs Public Enemies" (24) - Complete set of 24 cards. When issued, this set circulated as eight card uncut perforated strips. Just a few cards show an uneven edge and may have been hand cut or were simply the end card of a strip. All others show a pair of perforated edges as issued. Grades 33% VG or slightly nicer, 67% PR to GD.
