    Description

1930s R185 W.S. "Indian and Western" Complete Set (48). The R185 series is titled "Series of 48 - Western" and was one of the multitude of 1940's strip card issues characterized by cheap stock, simple illustrations or one-color photos for fast and economic production. After all, there was a war going on. This lot offers a complete 48-card set (#'d 49 through 96) now separate from the original 8-card uncut strips they were sold as. The set features western "celebrities" like Geronimo, Bill Hickok and Buffalo Bill. Grades 32% VG to EX, 68% lesser (mainly due to glue and/or blue paper attached on the reverse or surface damage where it was removed).
