1887 N1 Allen & Ginter "American Editors" Partial Set (25/50). This series is very scarce with partial to complete sets scarcely made available at auction. The cards are as colorful, expertly illustrated and top of the lithographers craft as the other large-size Allen & Ginter promotions. What separates N1s from the rest are their limited availability that is probably explained by the fact that compared to the animals, presidents, actors and actresses, sports stars and cultural themes of the era, a set of 50 "stars" of the world of journalism seems like a hard sell, at least to 21st century hobbyists.
