1951 Bowman Red Menace Original Concept Art #22 "Alaska Lookout" and Final Card. The earliest stages of card production begins with ideas before you have a finely drawn illustration, you need to have what the scene will be. Offered is a one-color, drawn to size, mixed media intended for, and ultimately utilized for, card #29 Alaska Lookout" for Bowmans' Red Menace series in 1951. Coming to life in blue water color and marker is a scene reminiscent of the cold war stand off with Russia which this edition capitalized on. The art work has no flaws or damage and the final card is close to EX/MT condition. Any real soldiers stationed in this camp in Alaska certainly understood what "cold" war really meant.
