1887 A2 (N2) Allen & Ginter "Celebrated American Indian Chiefs" Album. One of the scarcer and most popular is this beautifully crafted 6" x 8" multi-page album for the Allen & Ginter "Celebrated American Indian Chiefs" series. It seems foolish to think these are just companion pieces to the tobacco insert cards because they are truly works of art. The albums showcased the cards all nestled around an amazing array of additional graphics and scenes. So much more than an elaborate visual checklist, these albums are a special class of collectibles unto themselves. From front cover to back, each page is a finely composed display of colors, graphics that could easily stand alone and be placed on display. Offered is one of the finer copies of the A2 Allen & Ginter offered at auction. This album shows just some very modest corner wear and light creasing affecting front/back covers that do absolutely nothing to detract from the visual appeal. The sensitive binding is original and shows almost no signs of handling. One of the finest examples this hobbyist has ever seen and only the second Heritage has had to offer its clients.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
