Description

1969 Topps Test Room 222 Pete Dixon #43 (Black & White and Color) - Both PSA NM-MT 8! A rare Topps Test edition features scenes from the television show "Room 222." The show lasted five seasons (1969-1974) and was a ground breaking multi-racial series about a history teacher named Pete Dixon (Lloyd Hanes) who tried to teach acceptance and battle intolerance at Walt Whitman High School. The show also starred Karen Valentine and Michael Constantine. The cards are found in both color and black and white. Did Topps produce want to "soften" the appearance of people of different races on the same card with the B&W version? Being a test issue it was probably just a cost savings issue. Card #43 is titled "Pete Nixon." Both are graded PSA NM-MT 8. The B&W card is one of just four reviewed by PSA, the color card is the one and only example graded to date.
