    1930's-1940's Dixie Lids "Hoodsie" Ice Cream Lids Collection (63) With Movie and Baseball Stars. Dixie Ice Cream lids first appeared in 1930. The first year for finding a movie star under a lid was in 1933. Dixie would alternate the colors blue (even years, 1934, '36, '38, etc.) and brown (odd years, 1933, '35, '37, etc.). Each silver screen star could be found with different movie credits circling around their dual-tone portrait. All but a few six still have the pull-tab intact. Offered is a collection of over sixty of these classic collectibles. There are B&W, rose-tone and blue-tone portrait varieties. Includes: Baseball/Tennis (7) - All with tab. Hartnett, Hubbell/Rose (2), Hubbell/Blue, Medwick, Tilden/Rose (2); Movie Stars (56) - Highlights include: Autry (2), Barrymore (3), Cooper, Colbert, Crawford (2: one missing tab), Crawford/Blue, Davies, Durante (2), Eddy, Gable, Garbo (3: two missing tabs), Hoot Gibson, Harlow/B&W, Harlow/Blue, Hayes, Lombard, Moore, Navarro (2), O'Sullivan, W. Powell (4) and Buck Rogers, G. Rogers and John Wayne. All but six have the pull tab intact. Technically all VG due to crease at tab, some lesser.
