    Description

Circa 1910 S67 Indian Chiefs Silks Complete Set (50) - A Matching "Numbers Only" Assembly. Utilizing the same artwork that appears on the N2 Allen & Ginter American Indian Chiefs series issued in 1888, these silks were issued by the American Tobacco Company - one per pack in Tokio cigarettes. Circulated in three versions, this is a complete set of 50 subjects which display only the subject's number in the lower right corner. Gathering a complete set is an arduous enough task. A matching variation complete set (especially in this condition) is almost unheard of. Includes legendary American Indian figures Geronimo, Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, Chief Joseph and many others. Also issued were six premium sized silks which are available elsewhere in this auction. This extremely attractive clean set has just minor foxing and is practically stain free. Vivid coloring and white fields throughout. The entire set grades in the Excellent to Near Mint or better range.
