Description

1964 Topps "Nutty Awards" High Grade Complete Set (32). Topps began experimenting with over-sized card designs in 1961 with their "Giant Funny Valentines" release. That same size was again used during the same year in Topps "Sports Cars" set, Then over-sized sets were generally abandoned as a product idea for a few years. But 1964 saw the gum company again take their cardstock offerings to the next level with the postcard-sized "Nutty Awards" set, the first of their non-sport releases to adopt the larger dimensions of their "Giant Baseball" set of the same year. There would be more oversized non-sports sets in Topps' near future, but "Nutty Awards" holds the unique status of being the first in this size. Grades mainly NM with some slightly lesser and some nicer.
