    Description

1955 Topps "Rails and Sails" Near Set (197/200). This set covers the wonderful world of trains and boats used in the past. One of the first locomotive designs came from Colonel John Stevens of Hoboken, NJ. In 1826, he built the first steam locomotive and from that time forward, bigger and faster designs were drawn up. This is an amazing retrospective that will impress most enthusiasts of the rail and sail communities. This is a very nice assembly with many glossy cards. A total of 16 cards have been graded by SGC. Includes: Graded - SGC 96 MINT 9: 1 card, # 147; SGC 88 NM/MT 8: 8 cards, #'s 52, 68, 116, 152, 167, 179, 187 and 170; SGC 86 NM+ 7.5: 1 card, #77; SGC 84 NM 7: 4 cards, #'s 64, 89, 136 and 180; SGC 80 EX/NM 6: 2 cards, #'s 133 and 189. Grades 20% NM to NM/MT, 55% EX to EX/MT, 25% VG to VG/EX (some lesser, including four cards hand cut).
