Description

1949 R714-25 Topps "X-Ray Round Up" Vending Lot (2,000). Issued by Pixie Gum (Topps) produced "X-Ray Round Up" which is kind of an odd name for an odd issue. Subjects are pulled from the wild west, Indian chiefs, African tribesmen and even pirates. Sort of a homage to the non-urban, a-personality types. This edition is usually not found in any substantial quantity or decent condition but here we find both. Still in original packaging (as best we could determine), we have right around 2,000 cards which never made it to the intended vending machine or wax pack. Contents consists of varying quantities of these #'s 5, 31, 34, 37, 39, 42, 50, 51, 55, 58, 60, 128, 129, 130, 134, 136, 149, 150, 152, 166, 167, 168, 169, 170, 171, 172 Mae West (65),173 and 174. The boxes have been taped over but contents are EX to MINT with some lesser due to centering. Tremendous break up potential and many great candidates for grading.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
