Description

1949 R714-25 Topps "X-Ray Round Up" Complete Set (200) In Two Uncut Sheets. Topps seemed to prefer this small sized card in their early years and then made history with their 1952 Baseball set. Maybe this is why Bowman only saw the need to slowly step up their game. Issued by Pixie Gum (Topps) produced "X-Ray Round Up" which is kind of an odd name for an odd issue. This 200-card edition pulls subjects including cowboys and cowgirls of the wild west, Indian Chiefs, African tribesmen and... pirates. Who doesn't like pirates. Some famous names include Annie Oakley, Billy The Kid, Black Beard, Calamity Jane, Captain Kidd, Chief Joseph, Col. William F. Cody, Daniel Boone, General Custer, Geronimo, Jesse James, Mae West, Peter The Great, Sitting Bull, Wild Bill Hickok and many more. Sort of a homage to the non-urban, a-personality types. This edition is usually not found as a compete set and here we have a very unique version of the 200-card promotion. Each approx. 8-3/4" x 14-1/4" sheet has 100 cards, light creasing affects both along the top/bottom rows.
