    Description

1940 R83 Gum Inc. "The Lone Ranger" Near Set (42/48). The Lone Ranger, Tonto, and his loyal steed, Silver, held audiences glued to their radios, as their adventures were aired weekly. Even those of us not born then are familiar with the ringing call of "Hi-Yo Silver" as the Ranger sped off to right an injustice to the stirring accompaniment of the William Tell overture. The detailed artwork and striking color make these cards the most sought after non sport cards of this era. Cards #1-24 are relatively easy to find, cards #25-36 are somewhat challenging while the last twelve cards that pose a serious challenge to completion (six are included). Missing #'s 40, 42, 43, 46, 47 and 48 for completion. Grades 59% VG to VG/EX, 41% PR to GD.

NOTE: Missing numbers are represented by modern reprints to visually "complete" the set.
