    Description

1938 Horrors of War "The Frightful Cost of War" #240 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. A card collection can have dozens, hundreds or even thousands of cards. Among then a few that stand out and take a center stage when the next performance in front of a new adoring admirer. Such is the case with card #240 from the benchmark "Horrors of War" edition from 1938. "The Frightful Cost of War" at first was the closing statement of the all too realistic series that depicts the events of World War II in a gritty, no punches pulled format that has allowed it to fascinate generations to come. Offered is a very clean, nicely centered example that has close to precise print registration (no easy task considering the multitude of colors and finely detailed illustrations) that shows only modest corner tip wear and some toning. Graded SGC 80 EX/NM 6. A rock solid example and a card every non-sports enthusiast should have in their collection.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
