    1933 R136 National Chicle "Sky Birds" Complete Set (108) - #1 Current Finest on the PSA Set Registry With An Impressive 7.5 GPA & Scarce Backs. The same classic art deco style artwork that has made the Diamond Stars baseball series so popular elevates National Chicle's "Sky Birds" series put out in 1933 and 1934. The most famous names in aviation are present including Amelia Earhart, Orville Wright, Baron Von Richthofen (The Red Baron) and Charles Lindbergh, and The Spirit of St. Louis. This set certainly fueled the imagination of a generation that looked to the sky. In just thirty years Topps would create a set of the current "Sky Kings" who be not just fly planes but control rockets elevating the ability to fly over the clouds but now step on other worlds. In the early 1930's, the "rock stars" of the time didn't play guitars, they flew airplanes. This set generates a 7.5 (NM+) GPA and includes a pair of scarce Series 144 low numbers.
