    1894 "X-Zalia" Medicine Trade Cards Complete Set (4). 1894 was a bad year for diseases. According to the back of each of these rare trade cards, the X-Zalia Medicine Co. of Boston, Massachusetts produced a cure for "Eczema, Piles, Inflammatory Rheumatism, Burns, Scalds, Guts, Bruises, Poison from plants or bites of insects, and all surface inflammation." plus "...a valuable specific for head colds, hay fever, Canker, Catarrh (don't ask) and sore throat." To promote this miracle of modern medicine they chose four top celebrities of the time for these large 4-1/8" x 6-3/8" cabinet sized promos including the top boxer of the day in Jim Corbett and actress in Lillian Russell. Includes: Graded - SGC 60 EX 5: 2 cards, Jim Corbett and May Irwin; SGC 50 VG/EX 4: 1 card, Lottie Collins; SGC 40 VG 3: 1 card, Lillian Russell.
