    Description

1888-1890 A25 Allen & Ginter "World's Inventors" Album. The enhance the insert cards of many series a multi-page album featuring some of the greatest looking illustrations and lithography of the era was produced. These albums must have been a very popular concept as some, like this A25 Allen & Ginter album for a "World's Inventors" set was produced but the actual card set was never made and the ACC only mentions they are known in proof form. There is a set from Mexico by "Compania Cigarrera Mexicana" designated N391 titled "Celebrated Inventors" that does match the roster presented on the inside front cover. No questioning the album has seen better days. Wear at corners including chipped corners on a few pages and the inner spine is missing on the first two and last two pages. The last page is #13 so we feel the back cover is missing but all 50 subjects are here.
