1980's Donnie Allison Race Worn Driver's Suit with Allison Letter. Consigned by the same client who supplied this auction with the Tiny Lund racing suit, the presented garment was worn shortly after Allison made headlines for a fist fight with Cale Yarborough after he caused Allison to spin out during the final lap of the 1979 Daytona 500. Allison's name is embroidered over the heart, balanced by a "Nascar Winston Cup" patch at left. On both sides of the chest there is evidence of patch removal, not uncommon for racing suits due to changing sponsorships. Solid wear throughout would seem to indicate multi-race usage. Letter of provenance from Donnie Allison himself attends. Letter of provenance from Donnie Allison.
