    1976 Olga Korbut "Young Communist Leader" ID Book from The Olga Korbut Collection. Olga Korbut won four gymnastics gold medals at the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games, while capturing the hearts of viewers from around the globe who marveled at her technical skill, artistry, and personal constitution.

    A symbol of communist excellence during the height of the Cold War, the Sparrow from Minsk was presented with this Young Communists Leaders identification book by her red comrades as a reminder of her civic duty.

    Hardcover book (3.5x5") is maroon in color with Lenin's profile and gold lettering embossed on the front. Inside displays various communist seals, Korbut's name, 1976 date, and official's signature. All in Cyrillic alphabet. Letter of provenance from Olga Korbut.
