    Description

1972 Munich Summer Olympics Bronze Medal. Designed by Gerhard Marcks and produced at the Bavarian Mint, the offered medal is crafted from 140 grams of bronze, and measures 66 millimeters in diameter. Seated victory holds a laurel wreath and palm branch before the Colosseum on obverse, giving way to mythological Roman twins Castor and Pollux on verso. Original chain is present. Only 381 bronze medals were created for presentation at Munich. Fine condition with minor signs of wear. This medal was consigned by a Cuban national who claimed it was presented to a member of the third-place Cuban basketball team, though the absence of any markings documenting that attribution must be noted.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
