    1924 Helen Wills Wimbledon Ladies' Doubles Championship Gold Medal. The first of three Ladies' Doubles Championships for Wills at Wimbledon, who paired up with her mentor Hazel Hotchkiss Wightman for this edition, the "Queen Mother of American Tennis'" sole victory at the fabled British tournament. Wills' prize features a classical victory figure in front of a tennis net at obverse and text on verso announcing, "The Lawn Tennis Championship, Ladies' Doubles, Miss Helen Wills, Mrs. Wightman, Champions 1924." Medal measures one and a half inches in diameter and is housed in its original velvet lined case from "Fattorini & Sons Jewellers" of England. Top of the case is embossed in gold, "The Lawn Tennis Championships 1924." Fine condition.
