1920s Princeton Athletics Vintage Garment Lot. Not only does Princeton University possess the rich athletic history that includes the nation's first recorded instance of intercollegiate competition when they took on Rutgers in 1869, the school remains one of college's strongest college programs to date. Here we present an immaculate collection of athletics-related apparel relating to the university dating from circa the 1920s. Also here is a vintage felt pennant which measures 34.5" inches and is in fine condition. offered here is an athletic tank, presumably a basketball jersey, sporting the school's traditional orange striping against the black shirt. Evidence of use is pronounced, with holes and team repairs across the mid section. The accompanying shorts include a button closure with a buckle at the waist and an orange felt stripe lines each side. Interior quilted padding has been sewn in at each hip. A large team repair on the verso has been employed to fix a large hole in the buttocks. Lastly, we present a handsome heavy knit letter sweater with felt "AFP" insignia attached at chest. This particular garment remains in top condition and fantastically retains the name of its previous owner, "Maurice F. Keen," embroidered on a small tag sewn in the collar. A magnificent offering with fine display potential fit for any backers of the Tigers and their rich Ivy League athletic pedigree.
