    Description

1897 Theodore Roosevelt Signed Letter. Brief typed letter from the future President was directed to General James Rowan O'Beirne, the man who, thirty-two years earlier, had led Vice President Johnson to the bedside of dying President Abraham Lincoln, and who then was instrumental in tracking assassin John Wilkes Booth to the Virginia farmhouse where he met his fatal justice. Roosevelt was just months from his Rough Rider heroics in the Spanish-American War when he signed this 5.25x7" typed page in 9/10 black fountain pen ink. Light toning and horizontal center mailing fold, otherwise fine. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
