Description

1863 President Abraham Lincoln Signed Appointment Certificate. Midway between the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation and the Battle of Gettysburg, the sixteenth President of the United States signed this impressive document conferring the status of "Collector of Internal Revenue for the First Collection District of Connecticut." It's one of the finest Lincoln autographs we've encountered, easily 9/10 in strength. The document measures 16x21" and has been folded and reflattened, with some minimal separation at some of the fold lines, none of which affect Lincoln's spectacular signature. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
