1953 - 1955 Topps World on Wheels Original Art (28). Offered here is a good portion of the original artwork created by Topps artists for the 1953 issue known as World on Wheels. The set features vehicles from the past and present, as well as future concept cars. It was originally produced as a (160) card set in 1953, and then reissued in 1955 with an additional (20) cards to include newer models. Their phenomenal display character illustrates the care that was expended in the issue's planning and composing, and every one demonstrates concerted, painstaking artistry. Each hand-painted artwork measures about 5" x 3.5". Further, each has the expected, paste-up adhesive residue on the reverse. All of the artworks are extraordinarily vivid in color and detail, and all reflect minimally Near Mint preservation in their subject drawings. Designs and card numbers include: #37 Ford Model T, #41 Stanley Steamer, #57 VIM Stage, #64 Pierce Arrow, #70 Pumper Fire Engine, #76 Peerless Roadster, #105 Adams Farwell, #109 Leon Bolle, #112 De Deon Bouton, #113 Oldsmobile, #117 Ford La France, #120 Ohio Roadster, #121 Brewster, #129 Hoffman Vespa, #130 Volkswagen, #131 MG Sportscar, #133 Packard, #135 Reeves, #162, Thomas, #145 American Hosetruck, #147 Knox.
