Description

1951 Indianapolis 500 Panoramic Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. Winner Lee Wallard's automobile endured lost brakes, a damaged exhaust pipe, and a busted shock absorber mounting. He also suffered severe chaffing and lost fifteen pounds during the race! Still he emerged victorious. But his glory was short-lived as he suffered severe burns a week later which ended his racing career.

Pay homage to Wallard and the other gladiators of the Speedway with this spectacular NRMT panoramic image of the thirty-fifth Indy 500, issued by O'Dell & Shields Studios of Indianapolis, Indiana. "Indianapolis Motor Speedway 1951" appears at the bottom front over the venue's famed paving bricks which are clearly visible in the foreground. Deemed a "Type 1" by the experts at PSA/DNA, this fine exemplar measures to approximate dimensions of 8x33.75". LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
