Grant") and the secretary of state ("Hamilton Fish"), thirteen days after Grant was inaugurated. Matted and framed (23.5x22.5") above photographs of both men, the document appoints Frank Moore of New York as the assistant secretary of the legation of the United States of America at Paris on March 17, 1869.
