1985 O-Pee-Chee Mario Lemieux #9 PSA Gem MT 10. In a career initially spanning 1984-1997, and then - after Lemieux recovered from cancer, as well as from serious injuries - resuming from 2000-2006, the French-Canadian Hall of Famer led Pittsburgh to two Stanley Cup championships. The nine-time all-star captured six Art Ross Trophies in leading the NHL in scoring, won the Hart Trophy three times, the Conn Smythe Trophy twice, and the Pearson Award four times. Very big for a center at 6'4" and eventually 235 lbs., Lemieux amazingly averaged an incredible 2 points a game, accumulating 613 goals and 1,494 points in 735 regular season games. Lemieux won the Calder Trophy as the NHL Rookie of the Year in 1984-85, making this rookie card particularly significant.

"Le Magnifique" became the principal owner of a bankrupt Pittsburgh Penguins' organization in 1999, and then resumed playing in 2000, becoming a player/owner. Showing his character, he insisted that the Penguins pay off every cent of their debts, and his ownership saved the franchise. After his playing retirement, the Penguins won three more Stanley Cups, making Lemieux the only person in hockey history to have his name on Stanley Cups as both player and owner. This O-Pee-Chee rookie card, written in both English and French, is more valuable than Lemieux's only other generally recognized rookie card, from Topps. Graded PSA Gem Mint 10.
