1956 Gene Campbell Game Worn USA International Team Jersey from The Gene Campbell Collection. Along with his Minnesota Gophers teammates John Mayasich and Dick Dougherty, Gene Campbell rounded out a prolific trio that their legendary college coach John Mariucci claimed was the finest line to ever play college hockey. Offered here is Campbell's United States International Team jersey that he wore during his team's silver medal winning run in the 1956 Winter Olympics.

Exhibiting superb wear throughout, it displays sewn-on identifiers on the front, back and sleeves, while the proper size 46 Gerry Cosby tagging is in the interior tail. Born and raised in the hockey-crazy state of Minnesota, Campbell rose to acclaim as a member of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, where his play drew the attention of the U.S. Olympic team coach John Mariucci, who assigned Campbell the role of captain of the 1956 squad. The United States would finish second to the mighty Soviet Union in the ten-team tournament, claiming the Silver Medal.

This remarkable collection, consigned to auction by the Campbell family, is anchored by the jerseys Campbell wore in Cortina d'Ampezzo, as well as several other garments related to those Olympic Games and his service to American amateur hockey in general. Each will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from the Campbells.
